HeidelbergCement is a leader on the Georgian cement market. The company supplies cement and concrete to almost every major construction project and is the only clinker producer in Georgia.
HeidelbergCement entered the Georgian market in 2006 and made significant investments in two cement production companies: SaqCementi and Kartuli Cementi (now HeidelbergCement Georgia and HeidelbergCement Caucasus). In 2008, HeidelbergCement established the company HeidelbergBeton Georgia Ltd and began concrete production. The company expanded rapidly and opened plants in East-West of Georgia.
Today, HeidelbergCement is running 3 integrated cement plants in Rustavi (2) and Kaspi (1), 1 cement grinding mill in Poti, 1 cement terminal in Supsa and 12 stationary and mobile concrete plants in different regions of Georgia.
Up to date, HeidelbergCement AG has invested over 200 million Euro in the country, primarily by modernizing existing cement plants and expanding the concrete and aggregates business lines.
